Gavin and Jack did a wonderful job installing our gas fireplace. Their workmanship was excellent and their approach to the job was a joy to watch. Any unforeseen problems were tackled with a smile and good grace. We are very happy with the end result and would strongly recommend both the product and the service.

There was a wait after ordering the fireplace however once it arrived our builder Gavin and his team were fantastic, installation was done pretty much straight away. Their communication was great and they did an excellent job installing the fireplace. Very tidy workers and the job was completed very quickly and to a really high standard. It's made such a difference to our living room - we love it.

Thank you Wellington Fireplace Studio! It was so easy. Thanks to Hamish and the team for a dedicated and professional installation of a gas fireplace to replace an old insert wood burner. Hamish and Bill were a pleasure to have around doing the work. It is great to see someone who cares about what they do and seems to love doing it! Highly recommend.

Got a quote mid June for supply and installation of a repacement gas fire. Managed to reduce quoted price by buying some of the materials (flashing) myself for half the quoted price. Accepted final quote and paid for materials on 1st July. On 22nd July contacted them to ask what was happening I was, told the fire was due following week and I would be contacted regarding installation date. On 27th August contacted them again asking what was happening, got an apology and told staff would be made aware of this. Same day received email that installation was set for 9th September. (fire was ordered on 6th July and despatched on 27th July from NZ based company). The two installers arrived early on the 9th and proceeded with removal of old fire and installing the new flue. The subcontractor/gasfitter arrived at 12 noon and connected the new fire to the existing gas pipework and left just after 1pm. The two installers also left at this time to go to another job, the new fire had not been fully installed at this time. One installer returned later that day to tidy up. On the13th September received email installers would be back on the 14th. Installers returned in the morning to complete the installation of fire, both left 2pm. The subcontractor/gasfitter did not return on the 14th so the fire was not tested/commissioned to manufacturers Installation/Service Instructions although the gasfitter issued a Gasfitters Certificate of Compliance on the 3rd October. Invoices arrived within a few days of the installers leaving site, and now the work was supposedly completed. I questioned some of the original quoted costs suggesting a quote was basically an estimate and pointed out some tasks which I deemed not to have been completed. I received a email from the the company director which included an excert from the NZ law with the definition on what a "quote" is, and what is legally required by supplier and client. In particular I had questioned why I was paying $1410.00 + gst for the subcontractor/gasfitter who was only on site for an hour and later issued a Certificate of Compliance. The company director told me he did not have to justify any costings. I had also been told by the person who quoted for the job that the installation would take two men two full days. The installation actually took two half days which were separated by 6 days (started on the Friday, finished on the following Wednesday) I have paid the last invoice on its due date but since completion of the installation have had to have a gasfitter look at the fire because of a ignition problem due to placement of the stones/ logs blocking the pilot light. Thank you Escea Fireplace Company for arranging OVP Plumbing and Gas to fix the problem. I accepted the quote in good faith believing all the work/tasks would be carried out in accordance with the quote the low star rating reflexs my disapointment.
