Awesome museum. Very reasonable entry fee, & there is a great collection of material artifacts related to farming, culture, technology & domestic life; predominantly mid- & early 20th century, and also some 19th century. There is also a section with a replica Viking boat, & historical documentation of Nordic settlement in the region. SPOILER the Vogel Government incentivised their migration to deforest the vast tract of bush in the Manawatu, site of the last documented huia sighting in 1907

Visited the museum a couple of times over the last decade, not been for years but good to see its still rocking. Drive up the gravel driveway off SH2 by the windmill and utopia is found.
