I have tried four times at different times and days to get an x-ray. I understand that during these times you may not always be able to open. However, a sign on your door stating when you are next open would be helpful. I have tried phoning the number given ( 20 minutes of my life I will never get back!).

All the staff were kind and professional. The procedure was explained well. Premises were clean and modern (on the inside of the building). I would give 5 stars, but bookings have to be made by phone and it's slow and annoying to do so.

Turned up to my appointment today. Turned up early to make sure I wasnt late. Service at reception was lovely. Person who did my scan was most definitely not. Ive had scans done here before and the service/staff were always kind, pleasant and understanding. The person who did my scan today told me I was being dramatic multiple times. I have never been told that in my entire life by someone doing a physical examination on me before. I have fibromyalgia which makes examinations like that very painful and uncomfortable. I didnt yell or scream, I made sounds of discomfort only. I didnt tell her to stop performing the scan during any of it even though she offered, I just went through the motions and yet I was still told that I was being dramatic. After the upper abdominal scan was done, I was told to go to the bathroom and empty out for the lower abdominal scan. I did so, my partner came with me as I hadnt eaten or drunk anything other than water day and I was very weak. I had been up since 7am and my appointment was at 1.45pm so not eating breakfast or lunch for the scan made me feel faint. I made her aware of the fact that I was feeling faint multiple times in the room. When I came out of the toilet she was standing in front of the toilet door, led me back to the examination room. She then proceeded to tell me that it was inappropriate for my partner to have gone in the bathroom with me (no one said he couldnt come with me or that it was against the rules in their practice), that it was unnecessary and that I was old enough to go to the toilet alone. I found this to be the last straw for me as she was fully aware that I was not feeling well. She also told me I took too long to urinate. Last time I checked there was no time limit on how long it takes an individual to empty their bladder - I was in the toilet for a total of 2 minutes. I ended up canning the last scan as I didnt want someone who felt they had the right to be so accusative, rude and unprofessional, dealing with my downstairs area. Ive literally never been more disappointed with an appointment in my life. She kept comparing me to her other patients, went on about how shes never dealt with someone like me before, made me feel extremely alienated. My partner was flabbergasted when we left the building and had no words other than ones of anger and disgust from that appointment. Im 21 years old. Im still adjusting to how to deal with fibromyalgia. I have 10 other health conditions that she does not know about. What I require to do when getting any kind of appointment done at any point during, will differ to the average young female adult. Im appalled that she felt the ability to be that rude to a complete stranger. I was as polite as could be until the end when I expressed how upset I was with her behaviour. She even tried to deny calling me dramatic multiple times - how does one deny calling someone something youve spent about 30 minutes intermittently saying? Regardless, I thanked her for doing what she did do which was the upper abdominal scan, and left. I think its clear that I wont be returning to the Upper Hutt clinic for future scans. I tried my best to be a good patient and get through it despite it being painful but being called names and told off for no reason only made the whole appointment that much harder and hellishly awkward.
