So happy to have found Parehua as a frequent visitor to the Wairaipa from Wellington. We stayed in the Winemakers cottages and absolutely loved the lay out-very generously proportioned and beautifully decorated overlooking the garden and lake.We swam in the salt water pool and used the Spa pool too.The staff were super-helpful, and also kindly picked us up/dropped us off in the shuttle bus. It's just 5 minutes in the bus to Martinborough square, so well-situated.The buffet breakfast was generous and delicious too. We will definitely be coming back to stay!

I highly recommend this resort, very relaxing peaceful, and quiet with beautiful views. a full range of complementary items for you to relax with. The staff are very friendly and helpful will go out of they way so your stay is as enjoyable as possible by letting us have a early check in.The room was absolutely immaculately spotless and very spacious, I loved the spa bath so relaxing. The breakfast was outstanding and catered for vegans with the choice of hot or cold selection of food. We just absolutely loved our time at the lakeside cottage.

This used to be our regular romantic get-away, having had many visits back in the days of Peppers Parehua. I admit that since the change of ownership/branding, the resort has lost its luxury feel. The renovations (which the rooms did need) have been quite superficial (the bathrooms need re-grouting!). The changes to the room amenities are also a step backwards. The breakfast delivered to the rooms are now quite basic, as noted by others. In the room the Nespresso machine has been replaced with cheap instant tea and coffee (please do not use 'environmental reasons' as an excuse, as the replacement sachets are imported). We now have to pay a $2 extra for a proper coffee - how can a place claiming the 'luxury' tag and charging $300-400/night justify this! It pains me to write this review, as we really want to visit again, but we will be looking for different accommodation in Martinborough.
