One of the best restaurants that I have visited in Wellington. Interior and decor was on point, really classy but didnt make you feel like you shouldnt be there! Staff were incredible, really attentive and knew the dishes etc extraordinary well. We ordered the chargrilled octopus, and also the pig cheek and scallops for starters, which were really amazing not usually dishes I would go for but wanted to be adventurous and they didnt disappoint. For mains I had the wakanui blue steak and my husband had the catch of the day fish (which we cant remember the name of unfortunately!) both were absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. We ordered three sides of chips, mushrooms and spinach which were all a delightful complement to our main dish and very good portion sizes! A really broad selection of non alcoholic and alcoholic drinks on offer, although will always stick with what we like when out as drinking out isnt exactly cheap and I had already exerted my adventurous side with the octopus! So I had lager and my husband Guinness. We didnt have puddings as we were absolutely stuffed and was going to a rave close by straight after. The total bill wasnt too alarming either, although I did have 2 for 1 with entertainment book with saved us $50. But I would definitely return for special occasions and would be more than happy to pay full price for the amazing food, service and ambiance. 10 out of 10

Great environment and meal. On the expensive side and staff need a lot more training. Shame they are very uptight over serving alcohol even though you have eating for 4 hours - definitely not a venue for a long lunch!

Been wanting to sample their Wagyu for some time... I ordered 400g of the Japanese A5 Wagyu, that's a $320 steak... Unfortunately we were left waiting for well over an hour and half for the mains to come out, as the chef was not happy with the first steak, so they were cooking a new one...I give them credit for the fact they wanted it to be right, not willing to serve something not up to standard. Once the Wagyu arrived, it was very nice and tender, but not as fatty and rich as I was expecting, did not have the marbling I was hoping for of an A5 Wagyu steak from Japan. It was a delicious steak, but not worth paying extra for, certainly not worth $320. Overall the service was top notch, the atmosphere was pleasant, and we enjoyed the food.

The Entre char-grilled octopus is amazing. The NZ Tomahawk steak is good too, what a high quality of dry aged beef! Sides are excellent, especially the beef fat fries and potatoes. Staff are friendly and helpful, we had a good time there.
