Owner Gary was so rude to me on the phone, we had stayed before and knew the place had a late check in kiosk, Gary phoned me at 3:15pm to ask what time we would be arriving, I said our ferry was delayed but we hoped to be there by 11pm to which he got very angry and said he would be in bed by 8:30pm and he would not be waiting for me to be checked in, I said I had been before and assumed I could use the kiosk and if it was a problem I could carry on and stay with friends in Palmerston North, to which he screamed back at me he would be charging my credit card, I said thats fine, then he did a 360 and said once the payment had gone through he would put the key in the kiosk. I felt like a naughty child and it really ruined my night. Please check other reviews as this seems to be a common theme. The rooms are dated but clean and central to the train but I will not be supporting this business again.

RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!!!!! I have never received such rude service EVER!! Phoned today to make a reservation, and proceeded to give my card details for payment. I was then asked if it was a debit or credit card which I responded debit. The man on the phone then completely lost it at me insisting that I supplied a credit card and implied that I was going to rip him off. He then continued throwing abuse about how its Christmas time and I was going to rip him off and then hung up on me!?!? Totally unwarranted and uncalled for. With that kind of service, Im surprised he has a business at all. Will support elsewhere in this lovely small town instead.
