Very enjoyable high tea. A lovely atmosphere and food was delicious. However it would've been nice to have not had to leave by 3pm..

We hired the venue today. The property wasnt opened at 9am as booked. Took almost 30mins for someone to come open up. They claimed to have no knowledge of the booking. Despite a phone call last week confirming that the new operators did indeed have the details of our booking. Settlers Motor Lodge no longer has reception on the weekend (where you usually get access) only a sign directing you to Dupont. The one at Dupont was unmanned as well. When someone finally opened up she insisted on payment. We provided our credit card and she disappeared with it. We tried calling a few times to find out where it had gone, when we got through and she was asked to return it we were advised that we would need to go get it from another hotel up the street. The room wasnt ready and was freezing cold. None of the heating appeared to work properly and calling reception was a waste of time as they didnt answer. Weve used the venue several times in the past. The previous owners were fantastic hosts. Unfortunately the new operators have no idea what hospitality and service means. if they do they certainly havent trained their staff in it.
