RaD Car Hire Wellington

Beware of advertised availabilities ! Personal car broke down 2 days before our vacation so we made a booking online with RaD for a rental car. A few vehicules showed as available for pickup/drop off from Wellington, so we picked a station wagon and completed the process. However, the night before our departure, we were notified by email the booking was declined due to no vehicule available. Gave them a call to ask if we could book another category of vehicule instead and was told that they had no cars available. When queried about vehicules showing on their website as available for pickup/drop off from Wellington, we were informed that these could be anywhere in New Zealand (??) Quite upset of this situation and interaction.

Picked a car up from Wellington for 2weeks over Christmas. I knew it was going to be an oldish car, but was very pleased with it's condition and cleanliness; indeed it was spotless inside and out. Did quite a few Kms and it ran faultlessly and was frugal, nice to drive and surprisingly spacious. I also consider it was good value for money. I couldn't find anything else at the price.
