Great spot to stay, excellent communication from hosts, lots of surprise activities & features around property including outdoor bath & firepit. Walkability: Lots of small walks on property & walks in Tararua Ranges close by.

Had a wonderful long weekend break at Kaituna riverside cottage. Rose and Rio were there to meet us, very friendly and welcoming. The location is amazing, the cottage perched just above the picturesque Waingawa river, beautiful deep swimming holes, lovely native bush. The cottage itself has extensive garden/ lawn areas with beautiful trees so plenty of places to relax in the shade reading , playing board games, card games. The cottage itself is very well equipped, clean and very comfortable. So lovely to have the sound of the river as the background noise to our holiday. being within easy driving distance from Wellington, well be back again next summer. My stay at Bankside house was without doubt one of the most tranquil, restful and reenergising I can remember. The river side location surrounded by walks and swimming holes made me feel Id landed in paradise. The house itself had all the facilities you could need and is very comfortable and tastefully designed, with those fine touches that only a family owned host can make. . Many thanks to Rose and Dan for the fantastic experience and great hospitality, I cant wait to return with my family. A piece of heaven ,a great escape from the harsh polish winter I came from, I wish I could stay forever!
