Upper Hutt Accommodation - Arorangi Bed & Breakfast

Wow what can I say! Ann and Miles are such great hosts! We stayed at Arorangi Bed & Breakfast while completing the Rimutaka scenic bike trail. Everything was ready when we arrived, so we could just relax and enjoy their lovely home and hospitality. The ambience of the natural bush and farm surrounds was also very relaxing after a day of bike riding. Ann kept us well fed with shepards pie and packed lunches for the next day of bike riding. They also had great facilities for bike lockup, Ebike charging, washing your clothes and even a private movie theater! Definitely a highlight of our trip, thanks Ann & Miles!

Our stay at Arorangi Bed and Breakfast was one of the highlights of our recent 2-week visit to New Zealand. This was hands down the best place we stayed on our trip. If you have a chance to stay here, do not miss out!! The location is stunning, set on a working sheep farm with chickens, an orchard, beautiful gardens, rainwater plumbing and an incredible view from the hill out back. At night, you have a perfect view of the stars and in the morning, there is birdsong to greet you when you wake. The room itself was beautiful, comfortable and clean, and the large home movie theater was a fun bonus. Ann and her husband are wonderful hosts, very considerate and accommodating. She even left us a bottle of champagne in the fridge since she knew we were on our honeymoon, and sent us off in the morning with a bag of warm, freshly baked cookies. We truly felt welcome and at home during our stay, and left refreshed and well rested. As Americans visiting NZ for the first time, staying here was a lovely chance to get a slice of rural New Zealand. It was a treat to be up close and personal with the farm and with local flora and fauna. Can't recommend this place highly enough!
