If there was a rating below 1 star I would have selected it. Case manager Tim is incompetent in doing his job, cant answer basic questions. Im a Aussie born Mori moved to Nzl 1 month ago, being told I dont meet the residency requirements, even though theres a clause stating In the emergency benefit I dont have to be a resident. Tim advised it was at his own discretion to decline any Assistance. Ive asked questions and was left on deaf ears he got frustrated and ended the call even when I wanted to speak to someone that could assist me like his manager. I dont get how a pakeha is going to denied me help even though my whakapapa and parents is from aotearoa. Overall Tim is get some training champ.

Very professional and welcoming,help anyway they can, whether it be getting a job or food problems etc ,great team of people.

Just had a chat with work & income & they were fantastic. Helped me with my problem to my satisfaction. The lady was lovely, very supportive & really efficient. I'm absolutely happy with my outcome.

They do the best they can with very limited resources and the fact that the workers want to help, but it is the government that ties there hands, I often think it must be hard working for WINZ as you can see in the workers eyes that they Do understand situations an they Do want to help, but the it's not up to them ultimately and sometimes they have to say they cant. But they are still polite, an try help in other ways by helping get contact with other services that may help ect.
