        I enjoyed the stay very much, very warmly welcomed from the beginning. The owner is very friendly and accommodating, lovingly prepared our breakfast. It felt like being home. The lodge is located directly on the road but at night it is quiet as a mouse. The Charleston Tavern is right next door, the food can be taken away, the menu is in the room. The beach is only a 15 minute walk away. Just before the lodge is a gold mine, right next to it underworld adventure. If we visit New Zealand again we will definitely come back.         Rooms: I was travelling with my husband and brother. The two roomed accommodation was perfect for our needs. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was adequate for our needs. Nearby activities: The beautiful Constance Bay was a short drive away. The bay was beautiful. We had a great time scrambling over the rocks and admiring the surf crashing on the cliffs. Food & drinks: The pub next door had a good selection of basic meals, which were tasty and promptly served.
