Overpriced for what you get. Had to queue to get in because the gates opened 20 minutes after they were due to open. Check in was then significantly delayed. Robes and towels poor quality. Didn't have food in stock for the menu. Drinks came after food, no offer to order more drinks. And worst of all, the gardener was spraying weeds with poison while we were in the hot pools, we could smell the spray (he was wearing protective gear, mask and boots) . Definitely not worth the nearly $800! The best thing was the massage - the masseurs were excellent and the glamping pod was also really good. The place has potential but it was definitely not there yet.

Rooms: Room and facilities have always been Clean, warm, great shower and lots of Towels... for the Hot pools. We feel the Hotel Staff go the extra mile to make the venue a very pleasant, "welcomed" and relaxing stop over point whilst crossing the Southern Alps. Food & drinks: Service has always been friendly. Menu is as good as you can expect in a remote Venue like Maruia.
