Rimu Lodge

We felt very comfortable from the first moment in this wonderful and very personal lodge. Sue-Ellen is a very warm and interested in her guests hostess. She always gave us many valuable tips for organizing our days in the area. The breakfast is prepared very personally and fresh and is extremely delicious, the location of the lodge with a view over the river plain is breathtaking, the rooms are lovingly designed and very clean. Sue-Ellen really manages to make you feel very valued and she thinks of everything - for example, she gave us a cooler bag for drinks and a picnic blanket for our day at the lake without us asking. We can highly recommend Rimu Lodge - it's a little paradise in the big paradise of New Zealand.

We have recently returned from a month's travelling around New Zealand and this was by far the best place we stayed. Sue Ellen was a perfect host, she provided us with wine in her lounge at 5.00, encouraged us to sit in her beautiful lounge and told us options for restaurants and sights. When we returned after dinner she had switched on our bedside lamps and left a chocolate on our pillows. Everything was immaculately clean and breakfast delicious. She even arranged for a courier to deliver my partner's jacket, which he had forgotten, to our hotel in Christchurch. The setting is delightful in a quiet location and beautiful views from the extensive veranda. Thank you Sue Ellen.
