Woodstock Domain

Great value camp site, $5pp/night, picnic tables, sink and counter, toilets, seems to be cleaned regularly, water access. Close to hokitika and many of the nearby sights to see. Parking is along the fence, signage and information is posted on the building along with the honesty box. A fun swing is tied to the tree. The sunrise is wonderful here, the large grass field gives a great view onto that distant mountain landscape. Heard many weka calls at night, with fantails in the area. I am almost certain I saw a kiwi in the field behind the building, but couldn't quite see enough to confirm.

Lovely place to stay at only 5 dollars a night pp. Toilets are cleaned daily and they even hang up a freshly washed towel! Great place to stay at if you go to the gorge!

This community-run place was a real surprise! Very reasonably priced per person and was a lovely quiet spot. I'm surprised by the photos of a "canvas village" as when we were there we were the only tent with about 4 camper vans in the car park. Toilet facilities were clean and well stocked with toilet roll and soap, they even had a freshly laundered hand towel! No showers, but this was made clear and nearest showers (at local swimming pool) are directed. Outside kitchen sink with washing up liquid. There is a huge amount of space here, and I'm sure even at the busiest times you could find a quiet spot. Thank you so much to the community who look after this place, we really appreciated it, and hope that many other campers do too!
