We purchased a Coastwood Sleepneat single bed with 2 drawers on 1 August 2022, paying $1529 + $135 freight (via Best Furniture Christchurch). The bed arrived with freight damage (exterior of a drawer scratched/dented) as well as defects in manufacturing (corner panels broken/split through poor workmanship and/or defective product design). When I reported this to the retailer/supplier, they offered to have the scratch/dent "repaired" (probably wood filler and paint) but insisted that there was no damage / defects (despite the photos being provided). Apparently, the seller and supplier considers this to be "acceptable quality" despite the fact that the Consumer Guarantees Act states that acceptable quality means the product should be "free from minor defects" and "acceptable in finish and appearance" and "safe". I wrote to reject the proposed resolution and asked for a refund/replacement but neither the shop nor the supplier have responded to me after 3 business days. With the damage as pictured, it is hardly safe as the splinters may injure when changing sheets (which require pushing the sheets under the mattress with one's fingers) and may also damage a mattress. Buyers of Coastwood Furniture products beware. *Update 7 February 2023* I took this case to the disputes tribunal, which found that the bed frame did indeed have manufacturing defects and was therefore not of acceptable quality. The retailer was ordered to (and did) provide a refund.

We have just received our second custom order from Coastwood. A couple of years ago we had kitchen shelves made to match our dining room table, gorgeous. Now we have just received a made to measure tallboy and two bedside tables. Great friendly communication and beautiful craftmanship. Thank you.

We brought Coastwood Furniture bunks through Harvey Norman. after waiting 3 months for them to be "made to order" Bunks came with completely wrong bolts, a warped bed rail (where the slats sit on), 2 sets of bottom bed ends and no top ends and a ladder that has a crack through it. All to be offered a repair on the bunks or wait another 3 months for a replacement. Yes we have gone through Harvey Norman for a refund, but for a New Zealand Company that made these to order how can you get it so wrong??
