        Be careful if you are ever in Greymouth NZ and get off the Transalpine Railway and need a ride. We called in a taxi ride at 2:25p were told it would be $120NZD for a 30 min ride to Hokitika. We agreed and were told it would be a 15 min wait which turned into 35min. When the driver arrived she unpleasantly told us the price had now gone up to $200NZD because it was so late !!!!!! but we could wait another hour and get the shuttle conveniently chauffeured by this same taxi company. We decided to wait and not pay this overinflated new rate but to get on the shuttle as our choices were limited. It was a pretty easy drive but in the end I suppose she could not be bothered to drive us so jacked up her price. Bottom line hire a car or take a bus. Greymouth is a scruffy little town with nothing to see and do. Unfortunately we missed our tour at the Kiwi Nature Center in Hokitika. What a dishonest company. I would take a pass on them.
