Wicked Campers

Completely unprofessional and fraudulent company!!! We had a booking to collect a campervan in Christchurch. On the day of pickup we arrived at 10am to be told there were no vans available and that they did not know when one would be ready for us. We then had a phone call with wicked campers and were told that the call handler had spoken to the boss and he was adamant a van would be available later that afternoon. We returned in the evening to be told that that 3 vans had come in but none were ready to be collected that day. As you can imagine this was a huge inconvenience to ourselves as we had made 2 trips to the depot by Uber and planned our trip on the basis of receiving the van on the 17th. With no accommodation booked for that evening we then had to book a motel room. We were told we would be reimbursed for the extra costs we incurred but never were after months of trying. Avoid this company if at all possible, theres a lot of other more reputable ones.

We booked a Campervan in New Zealand for 10days in January. First feeling was nice, good personal treatment and acceptable conditions of the campervan. This is a cheap company with old basic campervans with which you must be lucky for having a trip without troubles. In case of troubles, It will be impossible mission to get the expected service and attendance. For sure, we will not book again with them. This is our experience: Everything seemed to be going well until the campervan decides to brake down in the worst place (middle on MilfordSound Road) on Thursday evening during our travel. Nearest village (Te Anau) was around 45 minutes away, no phone signal, ... In the morning of the day after, we contacted to the insurance with the help from another people. After one hour at phonecall and after pay a bond until verification of the mechanical issue, we achieved the confirmation that someone came to give assistance. Assistance took 2 hours and just for checking the campervan. We went to the village with the assistance, we need contact again with the insurance to get the confirmation that the assistance could pick up the campervan and we spent the rest of the day discussing with them in order to get a solution. After some hours, they proposed to move to another location the day after for picking up another campervan. We had to spend one night there and we had to book a transport to the another location incurring in extra costs. Since that day we have been contact many times claiming the extra cost, the campervan rental day cost lost and the bond. After 5 months, we have just only received simple answers and we are still waiting the economic compensation.

Ask for an upgrade on the day. We paid a little bit more and got the most amazing van with a rooftop tent. Made for such a fun trip!!
