        We are Great Barrier Island 'locals'... We've been living in this stunning Paradise for over 27 years now. Great Barrier Island mainly gets by on tourism these days... it's what allows most of our community to survive here without depending on Government hand-outs. We run a small family business, helping visitors discover and appreciate the beauty of the Barrier. Bay Lodge Cottage is one of the most popular holiday accommodation options available on our website.... The feedback we receive from guests is consistently 5 star! We have more repeat business for Bay Lodge Cottage than any of the 60 or so properties in our portfolio. It's disappointing to read such an uninformed, bitter and misguided review as posted here previously by Wolfgang... What a load of rubbish! Surely this isn't the same Wolfgang Schmidt who recently featured on TVNZ singing the praises of Great Barrier Island and it's friendly locals that all respect each other and get along together??
