Good Experience today. I bought the battery, 75D23L (40 months warranty), last August at Repco Onehunga (I moved house). I drive my car regularly, but yesterday, I suddenly found I couldn't start my car, but only hearing the clear clicking sound from the starter when I pressed the start button. It had been only a few days that I didn't drive the car, and I'm pretty sure I locked the door and no lights left-on or so. And it's been only 8 months. So I found quite weird, because it had no early signs during my recent drives, and the ECU seemed working fairly normal. Then when it came to last night, my flatmates and neighbors all came to help me trying to jumpstart, but we couldn't, and I found the power was even weaker/flatter than it was during the day, once we worried that I couldn't close the window, my neibor gave the window a good pull and wiggle as a "starter" while we press the shut-window button then we made it . Then we took out the battery, found that we could only see a Very Very faint tint of green shade in the indicator(my car is small and compact, and the indicator was facing the inner side so we have to take it out to see it). Today, I took the failed battery to the Repco Manukau. They changed it for me. And they explained the warranty of 40 months had to count back from since the initial purchase. And they took down the sticker '202303' off the new battery, replaced with the old sticker '202207'. (It acutally surprised me initially, because as I remember, when my landlord replaced his Dyson vaccum whithin warrenty, they gave him a new warrenty period. I thought that would be part of Consumer Gurrentee Act or so.) To be honest, at first I was still a bit worried, because the previous battery only lasted 8 months, and the new battery obviously has 2-layers of different labels: a '75D23L' label covering a '55D23L' label, making it a bit look like a 'repaired old one', and also last night I found another tiny label having a wording like '12 months warrenty for commercial use' ( I was thinking: this is a small battery with CCA 500, we can't use it to start a bus or van, how can we make it for commercial use'? Would they finally declare that I would have only 12 months in total? And my previously battery only lasted 8 months, would that mean I've only got 3-4 months warrenty left?). Finally, they reassured me, I still got 2 and half year warrenty, and I can come back to them if my battery fails again. That sounds fair. When I took it home, my neighbor came over as well, we put it on, my car started straight away. Happy Ending.
