Budget Car & Truck Rental Rotorua Airport

I think the chaps there are doing a decent job. Due to multiple cancelled flights, i had to extend my car rental. All were done swiftly without fuss. Except for an incident where my car was wrongly issued to another person, and i had to wait 30 mins for him to drive it back, all else was good. Served by the dark skinned lady mostly. Lovely lady. Polite and helpful.

These guys are scammers - At the counter I was told I had a free upgrade to a zero excess on my insurance, just sign here ... no need to read the details. Turns out it wasn't free but cost more than the cost of the car to hire for a week. Poor customer service follow up also - refused to put me through to the rep who lied to me. Instead they hide behind emails and stock standard responses.

Only called to get a quote for a small van for half a day. Receptionist did not acknowledge my request for quote for half a day, then quoted $250 plus insurance and something else I didnt hear as I was falling off my chair!
