Buying new VW in NZ means you will be hit doubly hard on the value you use the minute you leave the showroom. Why is this you ask? The simple explanation is this. Giltrap NZ are incentivised by VW on sales Blum quotas. If they buy 100 VW over the financial year, they may average $3000 GP per unit. If they sell 300 units, then VW ups that figure to $4500 per unit. So Gi,trap sells to Miles VW, Tristram VW etc according to the demand that the ese,lets generate. In addition to these wholesale sales, Giltrap pumps out as many units as they can with 800km 1200 km on the odometer. These cars are sold on trademe etc at massively discounted rates. Try to sell your car in 6 months with 7500km on the odometer. And the soft market will surprise you. The money you should get for your car is blocked by the Giltrap brown market cars which are younger cars and have 1/8 of the km of your car. E.g pay $40k expect $33K after 6 months. Market price is diluted down to $28k. Thats right. The brown market cars are competing strongly. Giltrap has stacked the deck. Buyer beware.

While on a trip in the South Island I sought assistance from Miles Continental VW to replace a chipped windscreen. I wish to commend both James in ChCh and Laetitia in Timaru for their help in ensuring that a replacement windscreen could be fitted as a matter of some urgency. Absolutely awesome. Very Very good service. Had to drive from Timaru to get our campervan repaired but we'll worth it. And Very cheap as well . It's great dealing with people that know what they talking about. Thanks guys will definitely be back cheers Brendon
