Rooms: Somewhat tired. Reminiscent of the 70's loom. I struggled to lock my room as the door would unlock on leaving... yes leaving! The decor reminded me of the movie, The Shining. In particular the hallway scene. Nearby activities: Across the road is Poppie's Restaurant. Nice cafe/restaurant with a bar. The menu looked a treat and the staff accommodating. 5-10 mins down the road is the local pub. Safety: Extremely dark after sunset. Make sure to carry a torch but my advise would be just don't go far. Street lighting is very limited if any at certain parts of the town. Food & drinks: We arrived in the evening around about 19:30hrs. By the time we got to our rooms and orientated ourselves, we decided to head to the bar for a drink to unwind. Unfortunately for us, we were advised the bar and restaurant had closed by a grumpy barmaid, who had cashed up. It was only 8pm. Noteworthy details: There are bicycles for use. Main entrance is locked after hours, whenever that is, so you need to find a side entrance to access your rooms. Heater are noisy. Double check your doors are locked when leaving your room.
