Great hike which we started at the Skotel via the Taranaki Falls. Very well marked. The hike from the lower to the upper Tama Lake is quite steep and rocky. Was very windy during the Lower to Upper Tama Lakes. Returned to the Village via the loop which was an interesting change of scenery. Started at 11:30am and back by 5pm which included a lunch break and multiple photo stops. It was quite cold so take gloves and or hand warmers.

The walk to the start of this part of the walk to Upper Tama Lake is long but easy. The same can't be said if you want to get to the end where you get the view of Upper Tama Lake. A steep scramble up loose rocks - I wasn't super comfortable with it, more so on the way down, but it is doable without sticks. A bit of a challenge but worth it for the views at the top!
