We had a interislander ferry crossing from north to south and arrived on the southern island way past midnight, but prior to rocking up their gate we made a call to Dan to inquire if it is all right to enter the campsite past midnight. He assured us it is mighty fine to come in anytime, and just drop him a call if need be even after midnight. We were seriously doubtful if we can locate the place, and we just followed google maps until we turn off the road and arrived at the gate, not sure if that is the actual entry point, we sheepishly gave Dan a short call and he confirmed that we just need to unhook the gate and just simply follow along the dirt track. It was pitch dark at night with only our headlight as a guide, the path leading into the campsite is a bit uneven, but has a firm ground, and occasionally you can see sheep awoken by our campervan. We finally drove down a short slope and noticed a few other campervans parked, and we sigh a relief to have finally arrived at the campground proper, and after finding a secluded spot, we were just dog tired from driving in the dark, and knocked ourselves out cold for the night. Next morning we woke up to a nice scenery with fluffy grass around us. A proceed to have a quick wash up and drove out nearby for some nice pies across the river. There is a donation box on the way out and we showed our small gratitude for the guidance and hospitality shown, too bad we did not get to meet Dan along the way as he informed us that he will be busy tending to his farm in the morning. All the best to Dan and family managing the farm, keep up the good work and hospitality.

So happy. Learned about the place from reviews. Texted Dan if me and my gf can come. Immediate response with instructions. Sunny day so no problem to get down to the river with van. + just amazing spot across the river to the campsite + we were here alone, chances are you will be too + Dan is awesome host - no toilettes - weak reception (to be expected though) - dont go here if it is rainy as the road would be difficult to go up Be sure to bring some cash donation if you stay.
