I understand this place is closing or changing its business model. Probably a good idea. Camped here for almost a week. The beautiful riverside and terraced setting and awesome kitchen and dining area were let down by the complete lack of any facility maintenance budget. Everything was just so tired and run down, and the men's toilet and shower block was really unhygienic and smelly. Not to mention the stray cats everywhere. Was woken by a cat fight outside our tent at 4am one night. The pictures on the website are from when the camp was well maintained. Must have been a really long time ago.

The worst holiday park we have ever visited. Avoid at all cost. We visited this place in late December (around Christmas holiday). We were using the kitchen for BBQ during the night and saw dozens of cockroaches wondering around the sink basins. I have uploaded the photos as evidence (as part of this review). We raised the issue with the staff and they told us it is not unusual to observe cockroache in a rural area, and pest inspectors check the kitchen "monthly". We emailed the management team for refund and waited for more than a month to get a reply. We got the following message : "We will not refund on the grounds of native cockroaches, this is their territory". This demonstrates a lack of professionalism and we were offended by the attitude of management team (AFTER WAITING FOR GOOD 5 WEEKS TO GET A REPLY). The place does not keep up to the basic hygiene standard, and makes a totally unacceptable excuse to say they cannot do much about it because "it is a rural area and territory for cockroaches". A kitchen should be most safe and hygiene place in an accommodation facility, and where people can feel pleasant and comfortable to cook food. We were essentially risking our health & safety by cooking our food in a cockroach-dominated kitchen. We have visited plenty of other rural holiday parks with shared kitchen facilities, and have not seen a single cockroach. Also, the most absurd fact is the kitchen facility gets inspected only "once a month". Food preparation facility should be sanitised and inspected every week - this facility is negatively affecting the well-being of guests and this DEFINITELY NEEDS TO BE RECTIFIED. What is most frustrating is the management team and the owner have not demonstrated sincere apologies, and not willing to improve their hygiene standard, or a sign of courtesy. There are plenty of other accommodation places that demonstrate more professionalism and better facilities.
