The Quay

The server was great. We started with coffees with shots. The food was okay. The chicken and waffles were really unbalanced, would help having a non sweet waffle, like parmesan, because everything else on the plate is really, really sweet. The chicken was also pretty spicy, and that was not expected. Made for a strange mouth feel, sweet waffle and maple with the spicy chicken did not pair well. Usually a fan of chicken and waffles, but not today. Twice now, I have been disappointed by the food at The Quay. The server saved the experience, again!! Vegetarian options: The beetroot falefal was pretty nice.

Six friends met for dinner at The Quay and each of us enjoyed a superb meal in a beautiful environment. Our table was also served by the best host, an Amercian who looked after us all night with humour, grace and patience adding to an enjoyable and fabulous night.

What a beautiful setting, we reserved a table and we were greeted with a welcoming smile. From there the service went down hill. We were seated, handed menus, the waiter then rushed through the specials like a auctioneer on a Texas cattle ranch. He took our orders, that was for four people. A larger table was seated across from us (14 - 16 people) their orders were taken after ours yet they were served first and one meal to my table, not only did the 3 had to wait for the rest of the meals to arrive. Now the drinks I ordered 1 jelly tip, 2 vodka and OJ, 2 Long Island ice tea (which I was charged for) yet I actually received 1 baileys, 2 OJ (tasted like no alcohol came close to the glass) and LIIT that consist of 5 different spirits does not and should not contain or tasted like lemon, lime and bitters. All and all the service was very poor, the food was substandard, the drinks were over priced lolly water. You may do better with different wait staff
