        Good hut. Better in winter when its quieter. A 24 bunk hut managed by DOC. 2 hours walk in from Lake Howden and 4 hours from the Greenstone Hut down the valley. A lot colder in the valley in winter but does have less loopys and trampers during the winter months. Sits on the border of the Greenstone Recreational Hunting Area and Fiordland National Park - so expect to see Hunter here during the Autumn winter months also. Was here June 2018. Was much inproved upon from when i was last there in the Mid 90s whic is when my first photo was taken.
