This was one of the more interesting walks I did here just because of the information given along the way about the history of the area. The walk leads you to the remains of an old sawmill and if you want to go further, you can do the 1hr loop track that follows the tramway previously used to transport logs to and from the mill. Its a steady climb from the start point and winds through the forest. No waterfalls here, but in wet weather the ground can be damp and slippery so make sure you wear the right shoes. For more seasoned hikers, there is also an option to do a longer 3hr track (youll see signs for it). Im not sure if thats a return or one-way timing because I didnt try it. Along the 1hr loop, youll see a sign pointing to a wetland boardwalk track that takes 25min . I dont recommend this because it is quite a narrow, winding, and muddy track, and it goes deeper into the forest with no indication of the wetland Im expecting to see. After 20min in, my friend and I turned back just due to lack of time and uncertainty about where the end point is. Probably nice for the adventurous souls but I wasnt feeling up to it that day.

Remote and beautiful. Dense forest with amazing bird song and a helpful, welcoming warden.

Good luck finding this place. It is almost directly opposite Lake Wilkiecar park. On a diagonal angle. Yes, it is worth visiting.
