Only stayed the one night but had an amazing time and wish we could have stayed longer. Nat and Grant are great hosts and made us feel really welcome. The stay in the house truck was such an experience, its beautifully made, cozy and comfortable. Our daughter loved the Alpacas and chickens :) As an added bonus for anyone feeling adventurous the property joins onto the start of the kill devil track. This track is open to mountain biking with the full ride being a 37km return trip. I didnt have time to do the full ride but tackled kill devil climb. Research suggested a grade 4-5 ride and for parts of the climb this is pretty accurate. The gradient isnt too severe but its a long, rocky climb with tight switchbacks. I was definitely walking parts of it! Great views along the way and rewarding to make it too the top! The decent was easier than I expected, though take it easy as there are some steep drop offs! More like a grade 3-4 coming down. Challenging but fun ride, bring a full suspension mtb and some fitness if you want to take it on :) Refuel after the ride was provided in the form of delicious pancakes with fruit. Thanks so much Nat and Grant!

We loved our short stay at Alpacas Off Grid. Restful and restorative, yet also really adventurous and enlivening. Comfy accommodation, great views and walks, sublime outdoor bath, delicious breakfast and of course cute as Alpacas (+ some strangely deep breathing ducks). Nat and Grant were super accommodating with our multitude of questions about their off grid property. Mega interesting. Can't fault a thing! and happily recommending it. We'll be back! :-)
