Anchorage Campsite

It was a beautiful place to stay, and the facilities were ok. My main area of issue was DOC ranger Julie. I fell on the track that day and sprained my ankle. I was in a lot of pain, and was trying to rest, when she rudely waited at the tent for me to come out and show booking confirmation. Later that evening, I had realised I had damaged our gas canister for cooking meals which I had been carrying in my pack when I fell. I asked Julie if it was possible if she had one. She said she would fetch us one; I asked her again that morning if it was possible to have one to cook a meal. She simply replied that she was flat out and hadnt a chance and then never bothered to return with gas for us to cook. I have never had such an unfavourable experience from a DOC ranger, who didnt show any remorse for my predicament. Thankfully, the Abel Tasman Guides allowed us to use their gas to cook so we didnt starve, thankfully!

Beautiful golden sand around a great campsite. Plenty of space and amenities. The campsite is good as well as the hut. Good cooking area and short hikes available. Plenty of information around the area.
