Bupa Rossendale Dementia Care Home

My dad was left tied to a chair and even though he requested multiple times for water, staff would walk straight past him. We visited at 8.30 one night to find my dad still in the chair and had not been moved, he was exhausted and wanted to go to bed but there was not enough staff to do the bed time routine. We ended up putting him to bed ourselves at 9.30. When he got sick they told us it would be best we left him to die. We moved him to another home, where was treated and he made a good recovery due to their care. He gained quality of life for a further two and half years. Time to enjoy his grandchildren. I will never forget his smile when held his grand daughter. I would not recommend this facility, if you have choice.

I cant speak more highly of the loving care the entire team and (Kowhai nurses) provided my Dad over the previous 18months or so. Such a journey with many ups and downs for Dad and indeed his family and despite despairing times the standard of care was incredible. His nursing team conveyed how Dads wonderful character will be sadly missed. We were blessed to have been alerted in time (a testament to the close attention and skill of his nurses) to allow us to be by Dads side as he left in his next journey to rest in everlasting peace. The support and love also shown to my Mum and sisters, I am lost for more words to convey my immense gratitude.
