thought i had left a review for this gym previously but hadn't - so leaving one now. avoid it at all costs. tl,dr: they allowed their direct debit company to steal $350 from me and did nothing about it to stop this happening or remedy fix it. they stole my entire living costs for that fortnight and acted like it wasn't their problem. i was a member of this gym four 3-4 years since shifting to hamilton and over all had a good experience when things were running smoothly there. however the minute i needed management to step in and do their jobs the cracks in this place really started to show. i had no issues until i rejoined and their direct debit company started issuing me with fines acting like i had not paid my memberships and taking money from my account constantly until i had none left. i contacted debit success and sent evidence along with a letter from my local branch manager all showing that my membership fee had left my account on every occassion that i was charged (as well as the many false "insufficient funds" charges they pinged me as well) direct debit said they would only deal with the gym so i took the issue up with the gym (all the while debit success was continually pulling my fortnightly gym fee from my account DAILY until i had no money left). they gym took it up with debit success and debit success tried to claim that i never had sufficient funds despite mounting evidence proving otherwise. the gym came back to me and said there was nothing they could do, which is completely untrue unless they don't embrace any customer service at all. they still use the same shoddy direct debit company who have a reputation for losing payments and continually drawing from clients accounts like they did with me. i lost 350$ in the space of about a week. the direct debit company didn't care, the gym didn't care. the gym attempted to say they couldn't do anything. i was never offered for the manager to get involved to investigate what was happening or to try and fix the situation. every cent of that 350$ that was taken beyond what i owed for the week should have been refunded but they did not offer that as an option and didn't care. the only way i was able to stop the continued theft from my account by the gym and debit success was to cancel the membership. even after my money being stolen they still had the nerve to charge me the full cancellation fee relevant to my membership. flex te rapa don't care about their members or their members experience or customer service. didn't persue it as it's not worth my time dealing with a manager, who in the hamilton fitness community, has a reputation as being horrendous to deal with.
