Bathroom unclean with mould on ceiling and marks on walls Furniture and fittings old and worn. Fridge very old and loud during night. Bed leg had been removed from base Room loud with fridge and road No curtains only vertical blinds so too much light, light reflecting off mirror directly opposite bed

We had a fabulous stay at the Tui Motel. Particularly as it is pet friendly! And has fabulous views over the lake. My husband, six month old baby, dog and I booked to stay for two nights in a ground studio overlooking the lake. The lovely and friendly receptionist took pity on us and kindly upgraded us to a 1 bed unit - the extra space was soooo appreciated and really needed. Plus we ended up with the most fabulous views from both the sitting room and bedroom. The receptionist was so lovely and friendly - very helpful in finding a portacot that worked (took 3 attempts but we got there!) The motel is a bit outdated with older style furnishings and furniture however everything was super clean and in good array. Perfect for our needs. Great location with only a short walk into town. We throughly enjoyed our stay - no complaints and would def stay again. Special thanks to the lovely receptionist who made our stay great! Four stars only because it was quite expensive for a motel.

This motel was built in 1973 and it sure looks and smells like it. I think the original carpet underlay is rotting away. Make sure you get a room in the rear building as the elevator in the front building will keep you up all night. Only 2 good things were the view of the lake and firmness of the bed. Spiderwebs, insects all over bathroom blinds and fingernails on carpet along with getting overcharged, won't be back. Of the 15 nights we were in NZ, this room/motel was the worst
