"This was our first experience with death in our family with the loss of our beloved father. We wanted a funeral home that was knowledgeable with our culture and respectful of our Samoan/Tuvaluan customs and traditions. Funeral director, Gus Pua made us feel cared for and went above and beyond for our family. From our initial phone call, transporting Dad from the hospice, choosing the coffin, flower and burial arrangements he listened, and we felt the professionalism and respect through his communication. Gus arranged everything with compassion. More importantly, we believe that Gus is genuinely a good caring person. We know this is his job, but he has a special quality for what he does in every detail. Gus, you are definitely a credit to your profession and Tipene funeral home is blessed to have you serve them. We also loved the focus on your environment is as important as the services you offer the Porirua funeral home is beautiful, inviting and comfortable which added to our overall experience. Excellent Service from Tipene Funerals Porirua. The whnau of Maxina Rangimoeakau thanks Frances Tipene and Sefa Collins for their excellent service during and for the organisation of the tangihanga of our loved one. We loved the Velvet ruffles of the cover over Wi, so much we didn't cover him at all during the time he laid in state at his and Maxina's home. Both Frances and Sefa gave us the time we required, and accommodated Maxina in all her requests. We held the nehu and kai hakari at Tipene Funerals, and bless their hearts for the 100+% awhi they did for us. They had to house about 150 people. They / us / we all made it work. The kai was catered, awesome kai and enough to feed all, but I do think it was a little bit expensive. All that was left from the kai to take home was the dessert. Thank you Sefa for travelling with the whnau to Karori, Sharron and I are were absolutely pleased to know that they had someone with them who knew what to do. Fantastic service and set up for whanau. Beautiful setting for whanau to wait in. So calming and peaceful. Someone has a really good taste in devote. Excellent set up. When are you coming to Christchurch. I would love to work for you guys xxxx
