Spa InterContinental

I decided to treat my husband to a spa day while we were child free for a weekend. I booked 2 weeks in advance and explained we would like to come in and have a half hour treatment each, use the pool, spa and sauna and then an hours massage each. Everything was going smoothly until I received an email at 10pm the night before to say there was an 'issue' with the treatments. I found out the next day they were cancelling both my husbands treatments as a staff member had called in sick. This now became my issue. No alternatives suggested and it was up to me to try and rearrange the bookings to fit us both in that day. I managed, but had to come in early and give up my own massage. The staff couldn't have cared less. The half hour treatments were fine, but instead of being offered a robe and slippers when we got there we just went in our normal clothes, shoes and all. It all seemed a bit half-arsed. I had to ask to borrow a robe to use at the pool. We went to the pool area - cold, dirty changing rooms, the hot tub was out of order, the sauna was lukewarm and there were dirty plastic cups lying about. We decided to leave as we were not enjoying ourselves. I complained to the spa and hotel about their total lack of customer service and got a wishy washy response from the hotel GM, trying to blame covid, etc. We were offered a couples massage which we declined as unfortunately as the saying goes - you never get a second chance at a first impression. Take my advice, if you want a relaxing, hassle free day don't go here!

Had a massage with Ashleigh, she was amazing ! I would definately recommend her to others.
