Ohtel Wellington

Quite a nice hotel in a good location. Its a shame that it has a VERY busy road outside and a park where local youths play loud music until the early hours. Not a place for a restful night Im afraid. Its a shame. The staff are nice and our room was comfortable. That music and the loud partying though means I cant recommend this to anyone.

Nice, quaint hotel. Front desk service is good, although often the hotel reception is also the restaurant staff, which can cause delays. The room is clean and comfy enough, and they gave us a complimentary bottle of wine, which was appreciated. There were a few puzzling design choices, such as a extra-wide bed frame that I tripped over a few times, and a very odd bathroom layout.

The hotel is indeed quirky with a spacious room and lots of character. Unfortunately my room smelled strongly of 'gas' which I later realised was as stinky drain in the bathroom. Initially I wasn't sure if there was a gas leak nearby but the smell pervaded for the entire stay of 1 night. Staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. I appreciated the assistance with calling a taxi and helping with my bag. I did later receive a $12 charge to my credit card in addition to the room rate, but despite asking for an explanation and invoice, this has not been provided. I only had a cup of tea from the supplies provided in the room which I assumed to be free of charge, but perhaps this is not the case. Updated: Thanks to the hotel management for refunding the charge for mini bar liquor which I did not consume but was charged for.

Lousy service in the restaurant. As guests we expected our prepaid breakfast. Arrived at 8.45 (guide to leave at 10). The small restaurant however was fully booked, not only with guests. When a table became available there was no action so we had to remove dishes and trash and clean it ourself. After that it took over half an hour before the lady came to take our orders and to tell us that we could forget about having eggs if we wanted to leave before 10. We ordered muesli but that came after we had to go. We expected more. Rooms Shabby retro, noise of piping.

12 2 23 @ 5pm Although I've stayed here before and had a wonderful time I wasn't staying there on this particular occasion. I went to purchase a coffee and the man on duty had a horrible aura about him. To the point where I considered him very unfriendly. Won't be staying there just in case he's on duty.
