Unfriendly staff, the vans are old and in very bad condition. Don't rent a van and let this company ruin your road trip around beautifully New Zealand.

We chose the Happy jackpot 2/3 berth camper in Christchurch The little van went incredibly well and we had a wonderful time with it. The van could have been cleaner, and it did have a smell, but we bought an air freshener and it was much better. There needs to be some maintenance done inside the van, like hinges fixed fly screens secured properly and really needed a good wash. Even silicone on the tyres to keep up with other companies presentations The van only came with 1/4 of a tank of fuel which was annoying, and an inconvenience to us. I definitely would hire again though

Worst company ever. Campervans are not in a good condition, even dangerous to drive. We had a breakdown on a bank holiday, they don't pick up the phone on bank holidays. We were stuck with no van for two days, we only claimed one dinner and one brunch for the two days and they only wanted to pay one of them (the cheapest, of course). They gave us another campervan, wheels needed to be replaced, dangerous driving. They are crooked. Don't rent with them if you want a safe and nice trip.

My wife and I just returned from 23 days of travelling the north island of New Zealand ( March 2023) We rented a camper van from happy campers. Our vehicle was an older series 2007 Toyota Hiace. Overall, the vehicle was fantastic, excellent drivetrain, and very stable. The unit was clean and reliable. The front end office service was also excellent with prompt replies with any questions we had during our trip. We would highly recommend this company. We also found their rental prices were much lower than competitors, Granted you are getting an older vehicle.
