Doesn't deserve one star. This was the dirtiest place that I have ever stayed and I have travelled the world. I had the double room and the sheets both had blood spots and hairs in but it was too late at night to leave. Disgusting. Owner did say that he knows he is behind on maintenance and he is not wrong. I have emailed him separately so not saying anything here I haven't said directly, but no response. Photos do not accurately reflect this property at this time. Great location but everything else awful.

Rooms: Cramped dorm but cozy. Nearby activities: Chinese garden within a minute walk. Cafes and restaurants very nearby. Safety: No key for the room. Open dorm. Walkability: Very close to Nelson centre. Food & drinks: Free milk, tea and sugar etc provided. Also free icecream!

A small hostel with one 6-person dorm and 2 doubles. Could do with some refurbishing as the facilities seemed quite old. Unfortunately, when I was there it was not very clean, and the owner admitted he had difficulties finding staff to help him out. There is a beautiful garden with spots to sit and relax, but no common areas indoors besides a small kitchen (table for 4). I stayed for two rainy days and the only place to hang out really was my own bed. Also the walls are quite thin and every night there were people talking in the kitchen until midnight, so I couldnt really sleep.
