The food is alright but some of the tables in the restaurant, specially for a small party can be very small. The table I was offered was against the wall and legroom shorter than economy seat on AirNZ. That is, even after adding a note in my reservation note that its a special occasion. Unfortunately we had to leave after seeing available table options. For a highly regarded restaurant, squeezing so many tables felt a bit desperate to maximize seating capacity.

Liked the decor and some attention to details. For example groovy table cloths, original lighting and fancy crockery and cutlery. Very helpful wait staff. Food was tasty, but felt some items are just missing wow factor. Polenta chips were fresh, crunchy outside and soft and tender inside, delicious squid dish, but steak even cooked to perfection but was rather cold when arrived. Would recommend homemade ice cream and sorbet - very tasty. Great desert to finish. Would like to try chefs table, looked interesting and well set.

I certainly had high hopes for Field & Green as I have been wanting to try their brunch for a while, The food was delicious but unfortunately the service was underwhelming. We had wrong drinks bought to our table, when we asked about a couple of the cocktails on the menu we were met with "I don't know" and there was un willingness to check with any other staff member. In addition this one of our food items was never bought to the table but it was on the bill and we were almost charged for it until I raised this where I was met with some hostility.
