The worst car rental experience of a lifetime. A queue of over twenty groups moving at a rate of 1 group per thirty minutes. Horrible incompetent staff offering no explanation. Would never choose Hertz again

This was by far the worst rental experience ever. Here are some of the "highlights": - They tried to give us a huge car as an unwanted "upgrade" because they didn't have any in the class we booked. - The "upgrade" wasn't in the rental parking lot so we had to get another random car. - After we left they figured out that the car has expired COF and they sent us an email (didn't call for some reason) to return it. Since I don't check emails while driving we were far away by then. - We had to spend time figuring out how to exchange the car and finally going to the Wellington airport to do it. - Service is extremely slow so even if the line is short expect long waits. - It is really hard to find the return location because it's not marked on Google Maps and there are almost no signs in the airport itself.

Horrible experience, very slow service!! Came here to pick up a car, and have usually had good service with Hertz (even the international branches), but this was really unacceptable. There were only about 3 people in front of us and we waited about an hour to even get to the counter, as only one person was working! Interesting that all the other companies had multiple people working and little/no line. Once we got to the counter, the man working there didn't even serve us! He said, wait, and spent some 10 minutes filling in paperwork that could have been done when he had served the people in the line. Finally he gave us the car paperwork, but didn't ask about the insurance or explain anything. I had to inquire (and know exactly what I wanted) to get the proper cover. He also didn't even tell us how to find the car. Hertz needs to retrain their employees at this location for better customer service, or they will start losing customers. I would choose a different company in Auckland next time for sure!
