The Muse Christchurch Art Hotel

My partner and I were driving to Christchurch on the last leg of our 2 weeks holiday in New Zealand from Australia. When we got here, the receptionist told us the parking is full. We had to park at a pay carpark. We asked for direction to the carpark, she bluntly said next door. We unloaded two large luggages and bags of shopping from our holiday. My partner drove around for 25mins to find the parking lot that was mentioned to us( it definitely was not next door, it is three blocks away!). Some of the roads are one way and when he actually spotted the car park, he could not drive in due to one way street! This issue can easily be prevented if we had a map given to us to get to the pay carpark by the reception. If you are driving to Christchurch, DO NOT stay at The Muse Hotel! This experience leaves a us a bitter taste in our mouths!!. To add to our misery, we had to wake up at 5.45am the next morning, walked three blocks away in the rain from our hotel to put more money in the pay machine for parking our car!! The next morning we found out all the parking on the side of the hotel for customers are empty. The very unhelpful reception could have mentioned this to us so we would not risk be the only car parked overnight in a pay carpark! The Muse management, we recommend that you re-trained your front staff to be more considerate and thoughtful of your customers.
