Toilets are a long way away from the tiny campsite, and the area obviously prioritises day visitors rather than campers. Nowhere sheltered to cook or sit, and dogs barking all night from the houses across the road. Down next to the lake, a few hundred metres away, theres toilets, shelter, large grassy expanses, and heaps of parking. Youre not allowed to camp down there though, thats only for the day visitors. Lake is stunning, sandflies are rapacious, but neither of those affect the review because theyre specific to the location not the campsite.

Sad campsite for such a beautiful location. The site can really only accommodate 10 tents/vehicles. It is away from the lake so you get no view. The area is tiny and there is a beautiful large area right on the lake. The carpark for day visitors and trailers has the better view. The toilet is 5min walk away which is a pain in the night. The area to cook is again in the carpark more for visitors than campers. Unfortunately the DOC site falls short!
